The snow is melting (if you ever got snow) and the temperatures are rising, so now is a good time to ask: what are popular summer procedures when it comes to cosmetic and plastic surgery? The question is going to have two possible answers, depending largely on how we define “summer procedure.”
What Are Popular Summer Procedures This Year?
In one case, we’ll look at summer procedure as a procedure to get in the summer. These are procedures that area ideal for summer months, even though there’s really no “bad” time to get any cosmetic or plastic surgery procedure.
On the other hand, we’ll be looking at summer procedures as those procedures that get you ready for summer. For some people, summer has some very specific aesthetic requirements (especially if you only feel comfortable showing a certain body type while you’re wearing a swimsuit). What are the popular summer procedures? Let’s find out!
Popular Procedure to Get During the Summer
We can start off by looking at some procedures that are popular to undergo during the summer months. Now, here’s the thing to keep in mind, even in someplace usually cold like Minneapolis or Milwaukee, plastic surgery during the summer months is going to mean heat. And you need to take care to follow some special instructions during those warm months (mostly avoiding sweating and avoiding excess sunlight).
Plastic surgery procedures are especially popular in the summer among one certain subset of the population: teachers and students. For obvious reasons, summer is a good time for that particular group of people. They have three months off of work already!
For everyone else, the most popular summer procedures tend to be those with quick turnarounds. That’s because people don’t want to miss out on summer vacation activities or be cooped up in the house during the few months of nice weather they may get (in places such as California or Arizona, this may not be as universally true).
So procedures that are popular in summer tend to be less invasive. They might include:
- Dermal fillers
- Breast augmentation
- Breast lift
Ultimately, this list will vary depending on who is actually undergoing the procedure. That’s not all that uncommon. It’s important to note that “what’s popular” isn’t quite as important as “what will work for you.” And that’s especially true during the summer months.
Procedures that Get You Ready for Summer
Our second subset of procedures are those that will get you ready for summer. These are pretty easy to spot in advance if you think about areas that are commonly exposed by a biking or a bathing suit. (We’re certainly not suggesting that these procedures are required to be “beach ready” or any nonsense like that–simply that they tend to target areas that people are self conscious about being visible.)
Popular procedures that people usually use to get ready for summer include the following:
- Liposuction, which removes unwanted fat from various areas of the body
- Tummy tuck, which eliminates excess skin from around the belly
- Body contouring
- Breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reduction
- Brazilian Butt Lift
As with the other list, how applicable this actually is to you is going to vary. Much will depend on what you actually want to accomplish it and the best time for you, personally, to accomplish it. One thing you want to keep in mind with these procedures, however, is that it can often take several months for your results to become final.
So it’s in your interest to ensure you’re planning these surgeries with some intention if you want to be ready by summer. Give yourself at least several months to heal before planning your first excursion to the beach.
Summer is a Good Time
Summer is a great time to show off your results. Or it’s a great time to schedule a procedure. When you should schedule your plastic surgery–in the summer or otherwise–will depend largely on you and your needs. If you want to be ready for summer, then plan ahead. But if summer is the best time for you to schedule some time off of work, then that’s usually what comes first.
In any case, any and all scheduling is going to have to through your plastic surgeon. So be sure to share any scheduling preferences with him or her during your consultation. What are popular summer procedures? Depends what you’re going for, but usually your surgeon can work with you to meet your goals!
